The plain H-shape of the new school complex is a reference to rural architecture and the old mills of the Olona river valley. On all the facades, on the floors and even on the ceiling, depictions of the historical theme of agricultural fields is imprinted.

Like a mirror image of its natural surroundings, the building serves as the perfect stage for the children to play and see themselves at the center of a story.

The two asymmetrical  wings are connected through a large greenhouse with the main access to the building. It also divides the exterior space into two courtyards. The frontal one serves as a "town-square". The second is interior and more protected, it is intended for activities with a small outdoor theater for shows. The cafeteria, which has its own outdoor area, the media library and the auditorium form the new Community Center. It is very visible from the outside thanks to the vines on the facade and the fountain with the large mill wheel.

La semplice forma ad “H” del nuovo complesso scolastico rimanda all’architettura rurale e ai vecchi mulini della valle del fiume Olona. Su tutte le facciate, sulle pavimentazioni e persino sulla copertura è impresso il disegno della secolare trama dei campi. Specchio e microcosmo dell’ambiente naturale circostante, l’edificio è come un fondale campestre per tutte le attività degli alunni, una”scena” sempre aperta capace di raccontare il bisogno di vederci rappresentati in una storia. Le due ali di differente lunghezza sono collegate al centro da una grande serra nella quale è ubicato l’ingresso principale. La prima delle due corti ha funzione di “piazzetta”, la seconda interna e più protetta,destinata alle attività all’aperto, accoglie un teatrino per gli spettacoli. La mensa col proprio dehors, la mediateca e l’auditorium formano il nuovo Centro Civico, fortemente riconoscibile all’esterno grazie alle facciate di verde rampicante e alla fontana con la grande ruota di mulino.
